Infected Blood Inquiry Report: Volume 1 - Overview and Recommendations

This is the first volume of the seven-volume final report of the independent public statutory inquiry into the use of infected blood in the UK in particular since 1970s. This volume contains the overview and recommendations. The Inquiry examined why men, women and children in the UK were given infected blood and/or infected blood products; the impact on their families; how the authorities (including government) responded; the nature of any support provided following infection; questions of consent; and whether there was a cover-up.
