By reducing a financial barrier, the Medical School Application Fee Waiver Program may contribute to the socioeconomic diversity of students enrolled in Canada’s medical schools to ensure that the profession reflects the communities it serves; this is a necessary step toward equitably serving the Canadian population’s health needs.
