The nomenclature and descriptor of the current code for intra-coronal splinting (D4321) imply that the procedure is limited to the patient’s natural teeth, and that the splint is expected to be in place for a limited period of time. [...] This action is submitted in concert with the separate request for a new code with the following nomenclature – “splint – intra-coronal; natural teeth or prosthetic crowns” – which states that if accepted by the CMC the addition renders the current code D4320 redundant.
