Proposed Information Collection: Request for Public Comment: 30-Day Notice

1 Sep 2004

The Indian Health Service, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collection of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. As required by section 3507(a)(1)(D) of the Act, the proposed information collection has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval. The IHS received no comments in response to the 60-day Federal Register notice (FR 04-8721) published on 4/19/04. The purpose of this notice is to allow an additional 30 days for public comment to be submitted directly to OMB.
