We are amending our rules governing representation of claimants seeking Social Security or supplemental security income (SSI) benefits under title II or XVI of the Social Security Act (the Act), as amended. The final rules establish standards of conduct and responsibility for persons serving as representatives and further define our expectations regarding their obligations to those they represent and to us. The final rules include statutorily and administratively imposed requirements and prohibitions.
