Amref Health Africa was officially founded in 1957 to deliver mobile health services and to provide mission hospitals with surgical support. Today, it drives community-led and people-centered primary health care systems while addressing social determinants of health. It seeks to transform the health of communities in Africa through investing in the health and lives of women and young people as agents of change in African communities.
